BE HOSPITABLE
Hospitability is the quality of being hospitable. The first interpretation that comes to mind is cooking and setting the table with dishes and cutlery with a strong desire to receive your guest with all forms of pleasure and merry.
Being hospitable, according to Oxford Advanced Learners dictionary, means to be generous and friendly; having a pleasant environment.
Both definitions become appealing because they convey a picture of diverse interpretation and broader thinking.
Therefore being hospitable encompasses a wide range of endeavours. As my Physics teacher would say "it's voluminous."
Being hospitable begins first from being courteous and polite. And as little as an act of greetings might seem, it's so significant that it opens any locked door and enables one to attain to a level of favour one may not expect. People who get contracts, deals, favours and helps, out of unlikely situations mostly get it from just a simple greeting to a seeming stranger. A smiling face endears. A smiling face draws attention and breaks any psychological or emotional barrier. Many,however, still find it difficult to put up this pleasant facial expression that works like magic.
Regular and frequent exchange of the act of greetings fosters an endearing relationship. This is magical ! Greeting at all times produces a remarkable result and an enchanting effect.
Also, you can express the quality of being hospitable by;
💖 Welcoming people into your space - your home, your privacy, your heart,even your whole being.
💓 Organise a get together or a picnic where everyone brings to the table.
💕Be a giver !
Give money, give substance, sound words of wisdom and advice, give your clothes,give your time.
💓Show care for the less privileged, your hungry neighbours ,the sick acquaintance, the needy contemporary.
💖 Be nice, be approachable,be accessible,be open ,be available. Get close to people around you.
A different aspect of being hospitable is to be teachable, to be correctable,to be open to correction and criticism. The quality of being hospitable welcomes correction, reproof and reprimand, having a large heart with the capacity to embrace people, accept corrections and review criticisms with a view to imbibing the constructive ones and skipping the destructive ones without any bitterness.
Make it a habit.
Develop it to become a ritual routine.
Cook it into a practice.
Become replete with it !
Be hospitable !
