PRICE OF LOVE

He loved her. I've never seen a man as stupid as a man in love. But he was from a humble background. An HND graduate, he was to be. Still, he loved the BSc lady with professional certification.

She loved him too atleast from the messages he showed me. She told him as he told me that she wanted a man who she will build with. They wanted to share every second together, but celebrated every once a week when they see.

He had a mentor. A man that represents all he ever wanted in life: wealth, class, humility and a genuine passion for God. The man took him as a son. His protégé.

This mentor took him everywhere. He was like a son he never had. He worked so hard for his mentor. He bulldozed his way into his heart. And the man loved him so much.

So, it was easy to walk to the man's office one evening, to tell him that he is in love with his beautiful daughter, and he wants his blessings as he plans taking her hand in marriage.

In this story, the guy is Ben, the lady, Anita and the father of the lady who is the mentor of the Ben...Doctor Felix.

He entered the plush office. He was sweating despite the coldness of the air conditioner. 

'Ben, why are looking like someone had a long work through the mortuary?' Doctor Felix asked.

'Doctor, I need to see you.' He began.

 'Sit down, my boy. What should my secretary get for you?'

'I'm not hungry sir,' Ben sits down heavily into a chair facing Doctor Felix. 

'This must be serious for you rejecting food. What's the problem.  Tell me my son.' He held Ben's shoulder in deep worry.

'Sir, I love your daughter. ..and I want to marry her.' Ben blurted out fearfully. 

The silence was deafening but after a while Doctor Felix burst out laughing. 

'Get out of my office,' he said silently but with a new dead coldness. 

'Out!'
